About the Vision: Many years ago, Ellen Roos heard a clear internal command, "You are to put the highest of your vision into its most accessible musical form." Since that day, the power, honesty and tenderness of Ellen's presence both through live performance and recorded music have deeply moved audiences throughout England, India, Japan, Canada, the former Soviet Union, and the United States.
About the Artist: In 1983 two of her pieces received the "Songs for Humanity" Award. In 1992 she wrote the theme song for a worldwide event called "A Gathering of Light." This piece, entitled "Light of Life," was then used throughout the Environmental Summit in Rio de Janeiro, ultimately being sung on the beach by 70,000 people to close that event. In 1990 she was asked to write a musical theater piece, "Let Me Grease the Wheel" for the Loveland Arts Festival, based on her album, Lavender and Morning Sun. Her musicals, "Ondine," and "Naked Ladies," a show she co-wrote with three women friends, thrilled audiences in Los Angeles.
About the Work: Her current release, Lavender and Morning Sun, was written to appeal to all ages - a true family album. It's theme is Celebrate Innocence! We have received letters from people of all walks of life and all ages, the world over, telling us how spiritually and emotionally nourishing this music is. One teacher reported that since she had taught her students one of the songs, fighting had stopped in her classroom. Radio station personnel, too, have been very touched and are playing the album. Ellen is currently at work recording her next album. Look for it soon!
